Summer McIntosh is on the cusp of making history in swimming. With three individual long-course world records already under her belt, she has a realistic chance of achieving five or even six. Her remarkable achievements in 2024 and 2025 have solidified her place among the greatest swimmers of all time. In 2024, she became a three-time individual Olympic champion (women's 200 Fly, 200/400 IM) and won silver in the 400 free. The following year, she set three world records in five days during the Canadian Trials and claimed four individual World titles (400 free, 200 fly, 200/400 IM) and a bronze in the 800 free. Her dominance in these events is unparalleled, as very few swimmers have ever won at least three individual events at a single Olympics or four at a single LC Worlds. McIntosh's current world records include the women's 200 IM (2:05.70), 400 IM (4:23.65), and 400 free (3:54.18). In the modern era, only 25 swimmers have broken world records in three different individual long-course events, and only three have never held them all simultaneously.
