This wasn't just a few tweets; it was a veritable frenzy on Truth Social, with over 70 posts unleashed in a mere 50-minute window, spanning from 12:40 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Many of these posts were duplicates, appearing twice in quick succession, flooding his feed with MAGA-aligned content.
But here's where it gets interesting: Trump kicked off this digital marathon by announcing what he claimed was a major win: the preservation of TikTok in the U.S. He stated that the popular Chinese social media platform would now operate stateside through a joint venture with a majority American ownership. This deal involves Oracle, the company of Republican megadonor Larry Ellison, holding a 15 percent stake. Ellison, a known associate of Trump, is also slated to guide Oracle's efforts in "retraining" TikTok's sophisticated algorithm. He also shared PDF printouts of a NewsMax cover story about him from December. Furthermore, his feed was populated with critical posts targeting political opponents like Governor Gavin Newsom of California, Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, and Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota. Alongside these, he amplified claims of the 2020 election being stolen, shared videos from UFC president Dana White, and asserted economic successes, despite polling data suggesting otherwise. In a minor but notable slip, one post intended to declare "America is back!!!" mistakenly read "American is back!!!"
This post-midnight digital onslaught followed an earlier social media blitz from Europe. Before this late-night session, Trump had already posted 51 times between 10:38 a.m. and 1:01 p.m. EST. These earlier posts were a mix of attacks on his critics and enthusiastic sharing of content that supported him, particularly after the perceived snub during his "Board of Peace" signing ceremony. He also wove in more theories about the 2020 election and made bold claims about ICE's authority to use force against protesters in Minnesota.
